Application for Aoshi

1. Character Name: Shinomori Aoshi
2. Your Name/Nickname: Annette

3. E-mail address: blinding_sparkle@hotmail.com
4. AIM Screen-name: blinding sparkle (although I am usually busy I will respond to you!)
5. Date of Birth/Age: August 4, 1979 (27)
6. What is your previous roleplaying experience? None. I hope that doesn't scare you!
7. Have you seen or read any of the following? (If only some, please
specify up until what point)

Rurouni Kenshin anime: All of it.
Rurouni Kenshin manga: All of it.
Rurouni Kenshin movie: I don't know how they can call that a movie!
Rurouni Kenshin ova: Both of them.
Other related anime/manga/books/etc: Nothing.

8. Why do you want to play this character and what plans might you
have for them?

Be specific, the more you tell us about how you see this character and how you want to play them the better.

Aoshi is a complex character and I like that. I can see him killing or fighting only if it is absolutely necessary. He does not fight for the weak like Kenshin but he will fight to those who threaten the people that he cares about.

Since there was a previous Aoshi here I am sure they left behind some things that were not finished. I might be interested in those but I would have to see first.

9. - Please provide a character history for your character. Jinchuu ended 6 months ago, what has your character been doing since then?

Probably trying to achieve that sense of "inner peace", righting his wrongs with the Oniwabanshuu and others, keeping a close eye on Misao in more ways than one.

10. Are there any character relationships you consider critical to your character? If so, please let us know which characters and why. Be as complete as you can for your reasons.

(I am only going to do this for the characters I see in the game right now)

Misao - He might not show it but he is quite protective of her. He feels a sense of duty trying to keep her safe from harm but also knows that she is not a little girl anymore. He cares for her a lot but has trouble expressing that.

Is there a love connection? They are not as far along as other pairings but I do see some chemistry, strange as it is, there. So there is an interest that could be explored some.

Kenshin - I see Aoshi having a mutual respect for Kenshin. Kenshin beat him twice and Aoshi accepts his defeat now with grace. However to see the side of Kenshin that does not involve his sword might be confusing to Aoshi. It might be better for the recovery of his soul to watch more closely this side of the Battousai.

11. Fanfiction? Just the quirky little stories I write in my head and there is no url to that!

12. Posting regularly helps keep the game moving. I believe I can post once a day and more if I can manage. Sometimes with my job I have to travel out of town so posting would be less frequent there.

13. Please provide at least two mock-journal samples for your character, both written in first person to go with the spirit of the game. One should include the character's thoughts on others in the game and their relationship toward them. One should include dialogue.

Misao holds out the tray of riceballs expectantly, telling me to try one. She says that she has been practicing with Omasu but these she made all by herself. I take one and examine it carefully. I heard Kamiya once lament about how the Battousai likes to make his shaped like bunnies. These are shaped like......

"Weasel-shaped riceballs? An odd choice." Misao does not reply but I can see her cheeks are now tinged pink.

I bite off the nose and chew it methodically before I swallow. Misao is staring up at me now. She must want to know what I think about them.

"Omasu has taught you how to make riceballs well."

<<<<<>>>>>
The night was cool. The sky was pitch black, adorned by a full moon that shined upon the land, illuminating the waters, grass, and the outlines of buildings. Needing to stick to the shadows to hide from the light of the moon, I step silently through the streets, from corner to corner, breathing with my movements as I had once been taught long ago. If I held my breath and experienced shock, I would most likely let out a gasp, which a guard could hear.

I reach the manor and began executing my plan. I climb up the side of the wall using ashikos attached to my boots. This made it easier to climb up walls more efficiently. When I reach the top, I jump over the wall onto the ground, stepping into the manor, while remaining in the shadows.

I take to the eastern wall first. With two shuriken in each hand, I mutely travel toward the two unsuspecting guards. With one flick of the wrist, I take down one of them, as the shuriken makes contact between his eyes.

The other draws his sword with deadly speed, searching for the murderer of his comrade. I throw the other shuriken at his hands, but his quick reflexes deflect it with his blade.

He makes a satisfied sound with a smirk as he spots me. This one is trained much better then I thought. He must have once been a samurai. Whether it was for the Shogunate or the Ishin Shishi matters little to me. This man is an obstacale in my path and he must meet the same fate regardless as in death.

<<<<<>>>>>

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
